Straight from the Fujifilm X-Pro 1

This photo is straight out of the camera that still manages to blow my mind – the Fujifilm X-Pro 1

I waited until a cars headlights lit the wall before I hit the shutter. Photographed in Fremantle, Western Australia

I have only added a hint of sharpness and a slight vignette. Enjoy.

Final Result from the X-Pro 1 Video Tutorial

Considering I was shaking when I photographed this image Photoshop still managed to minimise the blur. After editing this photo in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop I am happy with the result. I think the slight blur adds to the grunge of the image. It just goes to show that not every photograph needs to be pin sharp. So my conclusion is….if you want soft photographs DON’T get the Fujifilm X-Pro 1. The photos produced from this camera are pin sharp and amazing!

Painting Photoshop Style

Decided I would have some fun painting after a long night of editing weddings.
Here is the result. What do you think? Did I go too far?

Semi-Impromptu Google+ Hangout

I took this image yesterday morning in Fremantle, Western Australia when Paul Pichugin and myself had a semi-impromptu Google+ hangout.  This was a test run for what is to come for when we broadcast LIVE. Exciting times ahead.

Australia Day Skyshow – Fireworks

A few more abstract photographs from the Australia Day Skyshow held in Perth, Western Australia. I created these as a set to be printed on canvas. Perfect artwork to fill any blank wall!

Enjoy.

The Lily Pond

River Abstract

This is officially the last post from my PC!

I have moved over to the dark side ! My  MacBook Pro is brilliant! You will see some quality content come through from tomorrow onwards. I’m still busily setting up the “NASA” control centre here at Leigh Diprose Photography so hold onto something cause this little ship is going to take off!

In the garden

I was inspired today to get in the garden with the camera after seeing some photos by Albany blogger Julie Holland.

Since renovating the garden (which is ongoing) flowers have been a bit scarce.  Today I spotted a rose coming to life out the back. With a hop in my step I set up my macro kit and fired one off.  Hands were steady and ready as I pressed the shutter to capture this little beauty. No tripod used just a solid Leigh!

All Aboard the Photoshop Train

What happens when you spend half an hour in Photoshop CS5 combining  the following six images….

You end up with this!

Enjoy.

I must admit this image does need a little bit more work but I will leave that for another day. Have an early start and a bit of driving to do! Stay tuned to see some images taken along side Andrew Halsall and David “noise muncher” Sobik.

Happy Shooting.

Sydney Icon

Trying to take a different photo of a over-photographed object = difficult!

Let me know what you think of this photo. I’m not 100% sure I like it.

Burchells Zebra

Hasn’t time flown? Since before the Easter break I have been madly redeveloping our backyard.  Caroline and myself have decided to go all eco. Raised veggie beds, chooks and new plants (including retic) all have to go in! So that is why you haven’t seen many photos for a while.  Bruised and sore from all the soil shifting and construction I have managed another African image for you all.

I’m off to the Hunter Valley (NSW) tomorrow so if my wireless works you may see a few images while I’m over there!

Until then,

Happy shooting.

Little Beach Ocean Motion

This was a six image stitch blended with PTGui.  Shot with my Canon 17-40mm f4 and Manfrotto 303SPH. Andrew Halsall was standing right next to me when I took this…talk about pressure to get it right!

If you use PTGui there are a few little hints that I will share with you at a later stage (when I have some spare time).

So until next time

Happy Shooting

One Small Step

After a busy day I have still managed to find some time to share a photo with you all.

I remember a good mate of mine Andrew Halsall once said…always look behind you when you are out taking photos….you know what? He was right!

Off to walk the dogs now followed by the treadmill. For those of you who don’t know the plan for me is to loose 36kg – just image how much more camera gear I could carry! I started on the 10th March…so far 5kgs down 31kg to go!

Until next time

Happy Shooting.
